BOSTON: Barry Bealer, Senior Vice President, Strategic Alliances at codemantra has been selected to moderate a panel on digital document accessibility at the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) Plus Conference on February 24. Bealer will moderate the panel, “Why are organizations continuing to be blind to accessibility?” (https://niso.plus/program/)
“NISO is very pleased that Barry could join the NISO Plus Conference this year to moderate a panel on digital accessibility issues,” stated Todd Carpenter, Executive Director of NISO. “Barry’s involvement in the accessibility industry will allow him to dive into panel topics many organizations wrestle with while trying to meet ADA 508 compliance challenges.”
The NISO Plus Conference will be held online this year due to COVID-related challenges. The conference is scheduled for February 22-25 and organized into 50 separate sessions with topics including accessibility, misinformation, FAIR data, knowledge bases, digital humanities, preprints, and standards and best practices. There are over 120 confirmed speakers representing 20 different countries from Australia to Brazil, Ghana to Ireland, and more.
“I am thrilled to be moderating a panel on digital document accessibility,” Bealer said. “We will explore why organizations continue to ignore or delay their digital document accessibility compliance and what steps are necessary to meet standards and directives.”
